Magdalena Seethaler studied Medicine at the Ludwig Maximilian University and the Technical University of Munich with a clinical rotation at the University Hospital of Psychiatry Zürich, Switzerland, and scientific commitment at the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry in Munich. She started her scientific career with her doctoral thesis on "Analysis of duration of epileptic seizures by means of invasive EEG-recording" at the Department of Neurology of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. After receiving her M.D. degree at the Technical University of Munich, she worked as a research fellow at the Psychiatry Neuroimaging Laboratory of Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA. She joined a project on the investigation of neuroimaging of schizophrenia, granted with a Carl Duisberg Fellowship from the Bayer Foundation. In 2020, she started her residency in psychiatry and psychotherapy at the Psychiatric University Clinic of Charité at St. Hedwig Hospital, Berlin. She now works as a clinician scientist on geriatric psychiatry.
