Expertise

I study the contribution of learning processes and decision making to substance dependence, in particular alcohol dependence. I am interested in how these mechanisms contribute to the development and the maintenance of substance dependence and other psychiatric disorders from the compulsive spectrum. I use behavioural experiments and neuroimaging techniques as well as computational modelling with the overarching aim to improve treatment efficacy.
